Pros

Overall PetSmart offers a pretty descent benefits package for salaried managers and ones potential bonus can be quite lucrative. PetSmart supports many animal welfare organizations and donates considerable amounts of time and money to these groups.

Cons

Corporate culture of extreme micromanagement of the stores from the corporate office in Phoenix. Horrible inventory management processes. The company makes every factor of running a store as complex and bloated as possible. Labor allocated to stores by scheduling software is a joke (grossly inadequate). There is no room in the company for any constructive criticism of any processes by store salaried managers.

Pros

If you have experience they can pay very well considering the size of the company. Depending on which store you are in, they can be pretty good at fostering a good environment and culture.

Cons

Company is primarily focused on sales and not customer experience. So expect a lot of metrics and hounding customers. Company is trying to be technologically forward but continues to neglect to invest in the technology. So there’s updates every week crashes every week with no communication around it.
