A Fine Place (If You Can Tolerate Change) - Director, Clinical Development Pfizer Employee Review

Pros

The company still holds tremendous resources that it can apply -- if it can finally commit to a single vision for the future. The stock price is flat and has been that way despite products being launched and others recalled -- in this economy a flat stock price is pretty good. People like to knock Kindler (CEO) -- apparently there are thousands that believe they can do a better job -- but I think he has his hands tied by an underachieving board (and that's what needs change).

Cons

Change...change...change. The ink has not dried on one reorganization when another is already announced. The board is not laying out a consistent vision for the future of the company and enabling senior leaders to execute. It gets tiring listening to "old timers" complain about how the old Pfizer used to be so much better.

Pros

A good amount of remote monitoring, which depending on how you view can be a positive.

Cons

Changing systems and inconsistent standards are applied to people. There are many differing models that often muddy how you are supposed to do your job, especially when other staff members don't quite understand. How do you interface with the changing models? There tends to be a lot of blame and foisting of responsibilities. Sometimes you can become overburdened with a lot of work, where people do not respect your time and think that their tasks should take priority. It is possible to be contacted late at night with work to do and then be criticized the next day for not being able to keep up.
