Pros
Smart people - we're hooked into the London, Bay Area and Seattle tech world. Personally, I feel I've grown as a engineer in my time at Quantcast, directly through engagement with peers (smart people). Challenging problems - web-scale advertising challenges - 3 billion request per second - 20PB processed a day - how can we do this better than everyone? Great perks - all meals catered (rare for London), strong social culture (and budget for offsite activities) - Relaxed office culture - access to all the toys AWS has to offer.
Cons
Struggling to scale to the next level. Real reasons for this unknown, but from an engineering perspective it seems like we've had 2/3 years of high engineer turnover, particularly in middle level management. That, plus a few weak product decisions. 2018 has seen a big change in engineering and product leadership. Lets see what happens...
