Pros
* One of the most respected companies out there. It can be a real resume builder. * Tons of opportunities at headquarters. If you're talented and outspoken, you can move up quickly. * Very stable company and very rarely has layoffs. Big facility enhancements coming in the next year with new plans to add a parking garage and gym. * Some good fringe benefits like short-term disability and employee stock purchase plan.
Cons
* Very poor health plan that gets worse every year. * Lots of internal processes make it difficult to implement meaningful change. * Salaries and compensation are below average for employees at the professional and middle management levels. * Not all that flexible when it comes to time off. Some departments have time sheets, so they track your hours. * Only get two weeks vacation to start and you're not allowed to carry any over from year to year. Don't get a third week until your 5-year anniversary. Pretty much impossible to negotiate for more vacation time when hired.
