I have been working at Starbucks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working as a supervisor provides experience in inventory tracking and ordering, customer service, coaching a team, and working in a fast paced environment, which can all be useful when looking for other jobs.

    Cons

The pay is not great and the lack of labour causes extra stress on employees leading to a high turnover rate with people leaving as soon as the are competent. In the 2 years I worked at my store I saw 2 full sets of staff change (almost entirely due to people quitting and moving on to other companies)

    Advice to Management

invest in your people, pay them more and give them the support on the floor they need and they will not leave so quickly. It may cost you more up front, but the money you will save constantly training new people will be worth it. Focus on connecting with customers, not pushing sales so that customers feel they are constantly being upsold to, creating a wall. If you have quality products, people will buy them without you having to force them to.
