Pros

STT offers competitive salaries and a laid back atmosphere. It is not particularly demanding and does not require advanced degrees or licensing. There is a lot of room for advancment as well as transfer opportunities all over the world. The dress code in some CA offices is jeans, a collared polo shirt and sneakers. Shorts are permitted in the summer. The nature of the work is mostly accounting reconciliation, analysis and book keeping for large state pension funds. Sample hours for a entry level canidates might be 7am-3pm.

Cons

Some may find the starting salaries quite low, but over time is pretty generous at 1.5x normal, especially if you are a hard worker. It is possible to earn 20% more in OT in a given year. There are time off restrictions because of month end auditing, but coming in on weekends is a rare request. The training new hires receive is far below what similar hires might receive from other firms. This can make for a difficult transition for those with a slow learning curve.

Pros

They offer resources for learning.

Cons

In my previous roles I've never felt burnout but with this one is the first I was feeling crush. I don't think managers take time to structure the tasks on a 8hrs or 10hrs per day. There are a lot of unrealistic expectations, no work-life balance at all. Even if you made the sacrifice to stay late, you will not be done with the work for the day.
