It was a good first job - Assistant Store Manager Subway Employee Review

Pros

The job itself is pretty easy and straightforward so it's a nice place to start out at. The hours were flexible around my school schedule and I was able to move up to Shift Lead and ASM pretty quickly as well. Having a nice boss who was always available to help and fun coworkers helped a lot, too.

Cons

Our store was open 24 hours so sometimes the shift times weren't ideal -- late nights and early, early mornings. Overnight people worked alone, which I was never fully comfortable with. There were some issues with people repeatedly not showing up or pulling their weight (for a while without any repercussions) which is bad enough on it's own, but it's really not fun to have to stay until 2 or 3AM when you have class the next morning. There was also not a decent pay raise for moving up and I'm sure I was being underpaid for an ASM, even if I was only part time.
