Pros

Good people in the Canadian office, good benefits, work from home option, nice office. Summer and X-Mas events.

Cons

There is an attempt to get 1.5 or 2 or 3 FTE for the price of one. They don't want to pay for the number of staff they should have, or for overtime, but nonetheless expect all the work to get done. Needlessly bureaucratic , which isn't helped by embarrassingly out of date technology that keeps everything moving at a snail's pace. Bizarre and illogical reporting structures that needlessly have Canadian staff reporting to people in the US who shouldn't be managing anyone in any country. No annual raises post 2008 despite the fact that the financial crisis was a decade ago and the company posts profits in the billions.

We recognize that larger organizations can naturally move a bit slower, we’re continually working to make processes smoother for our employees. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

Pros

1. 12% 401k match 2. Amazing co workers in the trenches but this is rapidly changing as people look for the exits.

Cons

1. Management - the new management team has a maximum personal bonus / profit only mindset. Cost cutting reigns. 2. Constant layoffs. No job is safe. 3. Company has offshored many jobs to India and is in a race to move key underwritering, engineering, claims functions to India as well. Overall, it feels more like a private equity gut job than a publicly traded company.
