Pros
My experience as sysco was originally on the positive side when I was first hired on a become part of a team who was family oriented and collaborative. The pay from then to the end of my time there was also pretty decent.
Cons
After receiving a promotion to corporate I joined a cross-functional team that I thought would be similar to my previous role in regards to collaborative, helpful, and team oriented. However, it's amazing to see how threatened Caucasians truly are when there are people of color in similar high profile roles as they are. They go to great depths to sabotage you for no particular reason when you deserve to be there just as much as they do. The sad part is I experienced all of this with not my coworkers, but upper management. When I provided proof of the falsehood behind the claims made against my performance, HR refused to acknowlege the evidence presented clear as day and of course supported the "white" person who clearly lied instead of the woman of color who presented numerous evidence to support her beliefs. The ethic department later dismissed my complaint against this woman for mistreatment and targeting due to discrimination. Mind you, I had not received any complaints about my performance for the years I had been employed prior to this which by this time was 1 year and 9 mths; 7 mths in this particular role and 5 mths under this particular supervisor after my original one left the company. In the end I was unjustly fired and have nothing to show for it! It's ashame people are still living in a time period where everyone was not considered equal bc today that does NO LONGER exists on paper. Learn to accept that people of color, any race and ethnicity, people from all backgrounds and unique individuality have a right to be employed in the same establishment-in the same roles or higher-just as much as you white people. Get with the program. We live in the 21st century! And to you people of color, stop allowing these people to influence your ability to do the right thing all bc you're too afraid to lose your own job! Grow a backbone. That's the problem with society, everybody always competing against each other or doing foul things to people to get ahead or maintain the little bit of status they already have, no matter now insignificant it is. So yeah, all in all, piece of 💩 company to work for. You'll never get ahead if you work for a racist individual or a racist company.
