The absolute WORST job I've ever accepted! - Executive Assistant TeamHealth Employee Review

Pros

Be careful here - pay appears somewhat attractive at first but you'll soon discover that the job expectations are waaaaay above and beyond the compensation. They pretty much want you doing $25-$27 an hours' worth of work for $21.

Cons

I was sold a bill of goods during my interview. Went on and on about teamwork, advancement opportunities, travel, etc. Total lies! I had little to NO training with more and more work piling up on my desk and the Directors constantly interrupting my work flow with their demands - never knowing what should be the actual priority. When I'd ask questions for clarification, I was looked at like I was a complete idiot, as if I should know better. And then they'd come in to inquire why "such and such" wasn't done yet. Are you even serious!?!? I'm pretty damn smart and catch on to processes rather quickly, but I was either talked down to or they'd purposely talk over my head in order to make me feel stupid and insecure and to "put me in my place" I'm sure. It worked for a few months until I figured out their power trip - which I'm NOT the least bit interested in. I worked in a small office with leaders that were absolute control freaks and who were constantly putting down the providers in unbelievably rude ways! I couldn't believe it. I've worked around physicians my entire career and have never encountered such disrespect - especially from a boss. I was also never told that I would need to use my own personal vehicle for their numerous errands and lunch runs. This may not bother others.... but I have a real issue with adding mileage, using my own gas (they use state fuel reimbursement rates but I was told to just let my mileage logs compile for several months before submitting them), as well as my own liability insurance so I can run all over from facility to facility and/or to pick up their lunch. I would have absolutely no recourse if I was in an accident during company time and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't accept any responsibility either. If I would have been told this up front, it would have been a complete "deal breaker" for me. Period. This company has also been acquired twice in the 3 months I was employed with them (didn't take me long to figure things out and bailed ASAP). They've gone from IPC Healthcare to TeamHealth to Blackstone. Healthcare with this company is no longer about helping people - it's a commodity (and traded much like your mortgage). Whatever they're calling themselves these days... money is their God and it's all about the bottom line. No stability or consistency with this company. If you have even the slightest conscience... run while you can. I'm not kidding.
