Pros
Benefits that come with the job (like health insurance, etc.) have been good through the years.
Cons
But there are many loopholes in the bureaucratic system to cheat everything. Cheat departments and programs out of their fundings which trickles down to cheating grad students and postdocs -the most vulnerable workers- out of their hours. Transparency is low. The work environment does not feel inclusive. Sexual misconducts are mostly dismissed without proper follow up.
