Pros
The hospital itself is very reputable.
Cons
Cold office culture. No one interacts with anyone else. Days will go by before someone notices you aren’t there. Sometimes it feels like solitary confinement. No team collaboration. Four to five people on the entire team are considered for special projects, EPIC events and training in which they often do not provide helpful feedback to the team or willing to assist others with issues. Constant non-productive meetings. High employee turnover. Frequent new employees and the “What have I gotten myself into” look on their face. Managers have NO leadership skills and will go out of their way to unnecessarily lie to you. There are always things that are kept confidential, but they lie about things that have no purpose to confuse you and make you feel secure in your position. No direction given to new employees and then penalizes you for not understanding what is expected of you after several attempts to ask your supervisor. If you’re used to being a top performer, you will be degraded with a lack of responsibility unless you suck up, then you are recognized with promotions and recognition awards. High performance tasks are usually given to the managers’ favorites in which they constantly recognize them, making the others feel ashamed for doing “low level” duties. Extreme boredom if you are an efficient person. There should always be something to do, but there just isn’t and you end going to the all the non-productive meetings so you have something to do. Beware of Ambulatory- EPIC.
