Pros

-You'll get a workout. -Do your time and you'll move up. If you're somewhat likeable and aren't a weirdo, you may get offered to join corporate. -great benefits for part timers. Put on a long spotify playlist and tune out friend-o.

Cons

- Was lied to about it being a permanent job when I was hired as a seasonal worker, then hired to the graveyard shift at the very last minute. when i got there i was given a different job than the one i was promised. - verbally abused by management (hey it's just guys messin' around right?). -you're a gear in a machine that has to keep going no matter what and if your collapsed body is in the way they'll kick it onto a conveyor belt to keep working. it is the definition of thankless hard work. work hard? congrats. more work. - was also lied to about our raise schedule as it had changed by the time we had been hired but we were told the old one. new hires were making as much as me after being there one year even though i had technically gotten a raise. - no matter what they say. they. do. not. care. about. you.

Pros

The pay is excellent .health care is 100 % paid with 100 %coverage...with exception to eye and dental which is about 70%..coverage...pension is outstanding..full package with wages and benefits is worth 130,000 yearly..without a college education I am grateful for the standard of living UPS HAS AFFORDED ME AND MY FAMILY!...and with 27 years of service I now get 6 weeks vacation with 8 sick days..and 9 paid holidays...we work hard like many people in the work force but we are well compensated!.

Cons

The only con is while your children are young you give up a lot of family time..I never got to watch my kids play sports and missed a lot of their growing years...the job can be hard on your home life but if you can make it through those years you and your family will enjoy the financial freedom that UPS provides...and now I look forward to a prosperous retirement!...so hang in there all you young drivers...
