Pros
Convenience - being able to clock in and out when you can.
Cons
My key criticisms: Incredibly bad application and website. Incredibly unhelpful responses and resolution of issues. No support for when I was attacked by a customer and had reported it to the police. Uber did not record my account of events, failed to investigate and follow up adequately and passed the incident to tfl who were equally not transparent and were unhelpful. I decided to stop driving for Uber as a result. When I went to file my tax return, Uber would not provide me with mileage information for HMRC. I was informed that they decided to remove this vital information from tax summaries for drivers. When I tried to manually input trips individually - which I was advised to do, the app continually failed (server failer) and access to this information on the Uber Driver area online stopped (no recorded trips message appeared, all of a sudden). I would strongly recommend using other phv companies (e.g. Bolt) and support smaller local firms rather than drive for Uber - a big corporation that, in my opinion, has little sense of reasonable responsibility when it comes to the safety and reputation of their drivers and whose corporate decisions and, in my opinion, platform inadequacies adversely affect the income of their drivers. I'm a good driver with a high rating.
