Pros

Salary is o.k. Great benefits package. Generous PTO but very stressful to take it. I wish this didn't have a 20 word minimum.

Cons

By far the worst employer I have ever had. I am used to fast paced and demanding and generally thrive in this environment. What I'm not used to is inept middle management completely unwilling to take accountability for their own mistakes and more than willing to pawn them off as the fault of the nearest bystander. It could be just my department I couldn't say but they treat their claims handlers with such disregard and their callousness seems baked into the DNA. Some of the things my Director had said about claimants is just shameful and I can only imagine how they talk about their direct reports when we're not around. They try to keep us distracted in a constant and toxic competition with one another. They think kindness, empathy and teamwork are signs of weakness. But yet those are the kinds of qualities I see each day in my peers, the people around me, that make it somewhat bearable. I've never met so many hard working and dedicated people treated so poorly. Any sense of personal pride in our work is just decimated in this dysfunction. The toll it takes on us is significant and I see co-workers out on their own anxiety related disability claims at the rate of about one person every three to six months. All but one has been fired when they came back. Honestly, is that necessary (or normal) in a professional environment? As the most recent work environment survey suggests most employees don't feel comfortable providing candid feedback to managers who aren't exactly receptive to constructive criticism. I can tell you as co-workers we do talk to one another and this sentiment is widespread.

Pros

Strong work-life balance, supportive leadership, and a collaborative culture that feels more people-focused than many large corporations. Hybrid flexibility, solid benefits, and long-term stability make it a great place to build a career. There are also good opportunities for internal growth and cross-functional experience.

Cons

Decision-making can sometimes move slowly due to layers of process and approvals. Compensation may not always be as competitive as larger tech-focused companies, and organizational changes or transformation initiatives can occasionally create ambiguity or shifting priorities. Like many large enterprises, bureaucracy can at times impact speed and innovation.
