Pros

Vanguard was once a good place to work. There was a time when the company cared about customers and employees alike. It was a culture of caring and doing what was right. Vanguard has always been known to pay less, but company offered a nice benefit package, flexible time, and an exciting Partnership incentive. However, this has changed gradually over the past 10 years. Benefits and Partnership have been greatly reduced. Now, management wants the folks who remember when things were different out. As the world of finance has become more competitive, so have Vanguard crew members been forced to become more competitive. If you work at Vanguard be prepared to watch your back.

Cons

The company is very proud of it's reputation for not laying off employees, but they will "manage you out" as soon as they can after you turn 50. Managing you out means management will look for anything thing it can to put pressure on you and get you to quit. You have to use the same technology that Vanguard uses to monitor you to prove management wrong. So you have to document everything, which makes it harder to preform well in a demanding profession. If pressuring you doesn't work, the company will terminate you.
