Pros

* Great product(s) to work with, pace of development is excellent, always fresh new content being released for the captive user audience. * Good benefits and perks for UK staff (not sure about other regions). * Left to your own devices - you need to be an adult to work here, there is very little micro-management, so if you need to be looked after or mothered, then Veeam isn't for you. The business depends on a crop of staff coming through the front door that have the experience, courage and skills sets to do the job from the get-go! * Company is making a concerted effort to engage with the troops - focus groups and feedback are making appearances which is excellent. * Keen to develop staff - dedicated Microsoft/AWS/etc training courses are a regular occurrence. * Middle-management recognise success, whether that be a pat on the back, an award or shout out during QBRs. Keen to announce the troops success rather than collect the kudos themselves.

Cons

* Need to stand on your own two feet - there is a dedicated "new starter" training at HQ, but other than that you need to figure out the job for yourself (hence the requirement for an experienced head on experienced shoulders). * Sparse team across the UK limits colleague interaction - not a major problem, but doesn't have the "office-vibe atmosphere" as everyone is pretty much road based (goes with the business model and being connected to the customer base). * Dont expect to see your manager unless something has gone very very well - OR - very very badly.

Pros

Pay is good as well as benefits.

Cons

Poor organizational structure and lack of clarity: Roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines were confusing. This made collaboration and accountability very difficult. Nepotism and favoritism in leadership: Upper management heavily favored hiring and promoting people from their previous companies the "buddy system". Loyalty to personal networks appeared to matter more than competence or performance, which created cliques and made nonconnected employees feel like outsiders. Hypocritical company culture: Leadership frequently talked about "employee matters" values, strong culture, and employee well being, but in practice these were not reflected in actions. Layoffs, heavy workloads after staff reductions, and a focus on looking good on paper undermined any real trust. Frequent layoffs and job insecurity: Multiple rounds of layoffs created constant uncertainty. Remaining employees were expected to absorb significantly more work with fewer resources and little recognition or support. Heavy favoritism toward offshoring and lower cost international employees: Upper management strongly preferred hiring or retaining talent in countries with significantly lower cost of living because their lower salaries made departmental budgets and headcount metrics look better on paper. This resulted in U.S. based employees being disproportionately targeted in layoffs or overlooked for retention/promotion.
