Great place to coast (WalmartLabs) - Senior Product Manager Walmart Employee Review

Pros

Salaries are competitive (for Labs), great work-life balance if your team is laid back (like mine). The culture is more or less of a typical Bay Area internet company. People are generally nice.

Cons

Benefits are sub-par for a company trying to compete with Google, Facebook; health insurance is something that definitely needs to be considered when negotiating (same selection as store employees). Hiring process is a bit questionable; there doesn't seem to be a ton of concern for culture fit, at least on the Labs side. Labs leadership seems rather hands off; I sense that they are coasting as well, as they are not held accountable for anything important like revenue. The expectation is that you under-promise and over-deliver. There isn't much incentive to innovate.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
