Pros

-Wonderful benefits, 401K, flex-spend card to pay for doctor. -Nice people to work with. -Great holiday parties -Relaxed environment -Can dress casually most of the time.

Cons

-No room for growth!!! If you want to do the same thing for 20-30 years then this is the company for you. -HR is a joke. They claim to help you and say they are on your side but they are only looking out for themselves in the end. -Terrible management. Even in you try to bring the issue up nothing gets done. - Upper management: All they care about is whether the work gets done. -If you're on the bottom, you're not going to be making good money. There are some people who have taken on second jobs--and that was before the economy went south. -Many of the jobs are thankless--slow to get praise but quick to reprimand. -Bright and creative people are not appreciated. Any time a liite creativity is shown it gets shut down quickly.

Pros

Decent pay and benefits for publishing.

Cons

Once of the most toxic work environments I've ever worked at. Upper management tears editors down if you are not a favorite. Favorites are chosen by metrics that do not exist, and are subjective and arbitrary. Wiley is losing money because brilliant, young editors leave due to no support and toxic work environments. Wiley Trade is essentially a hybrid publisher. Author's put a lot of money into their book -- too much. There is very very little marketing and publicity support for authors. But they brand as more than there actually is. All in all a very sad place to work and sad for authors.
