Pros
You will understand a lot and learn a lot about quality and development of projects and have a chance to connect to the client and understand the consultant/client mechanics and interactions. Some interesting training courses (although don't expect any certifications except on ITIL).
Cons
From day one day say that the consultant is the primary focus of the company but when push comes to shove what matters is the client, and if your career path collides with the project safety you will have to do everything yourself in order to change projects pretty much putting all the baggage and hard work on you and claiming that it will be "good" for your career.
