the salary is not great, but it really does depend on how much students like you and how well you can convince them to leave feedback, I am not good at getting them to leave feedback because I am not a salesperson and I am not good at promoting myself. I have taught in 5 other countries and even when foreign teachers got a little higher salary than local teachers, it was still much less than you can get paid to teach in the USA. I understand you would expect to get the same pay for doing the same job, but that doesn't happen around the world, salaries differ, even by city, in my city $14-18 per hour, which is how much people earn on average with itutor is 5-8 above the minimum wage and more than you'd be paid to work as an in-person tutor.
