I worked at Ergomotion (More than a year)

    Pros

The company culture is great. The environment is relaxed, and you get a lot of praise for jobs well done

    Cons

The praise doesn't pay the bills as the company is very top heavy. All the corp gets the money and they try to motivate the rest of the team with numbers that even management doesn't know how to hit.

    Advice to Management

Lead your team by making the sacrifices necessary to actually making them better and happier.

    Pros

A very knowledgable, young, and fun-loving team that treats one another with respect. The culture is so unique, and I guess, so Santa Barbara. It's definitely a great starting point for many of you new graduates from college.

    Cons

Training is not sufficient, and instructions from the upper management are not very clear. Many of the times you will be given a task and have to figure it out yourself, either by yourself or with internal or external help, but creativity and independence will be required to be successful at Ergomotion.

    Advice to Management

Better incentives for employees who work hard, and clearer directions from the management team would be highly necessary to let the company continue its growth. And most of all, keep the culture!

I have been working at Ergomotion full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility, lax rules, long lunches, if you are in sales your travel and expense budget is off the charts and you are not required to do anything

    Cons

There is no direction, no strategy or plan, and poor management. The wrong people are in key roles and the general motto is "that's not how we've always done it." The company is stuck in a rut of poor organization and communication and senior employees are unwilling to make positive changes.

    Advice to Management

Get a strategy, get the right people in the right roles and give them responsibility. Conduct market research to determine product direction. Get rid of useless managers who do nothing and add nothing to the organization. Streamline the product catalog to make way for new innovation. Fix once and for all lingering problems with existing product.
