    I have been working at First Merchants full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great coworkers and incentives. If you go the extra mile with sales, you get rewarded for it. Base salary is a bit lower but the sales incentives make it worth it.

    Cons

    Long days can be daunting at times but if you ask for help, it's there. Managers seem to make minute items a huge deal...time can be spent in different places.

    Supervisors and managers micro-manage employees

    Stop micro-managing and have a career path in place for those that would like to grow within the organization.

    Pros

    The only pro would be the holiday schedule.

    Cons

    Lack of communication from management. Claim to be a community bank, not very friendly to the community. Customers are a number, get them in and out and sell every product there is.

    Advice to Management

    Very poor customer service.

    Pros

    The customer are wonderful and this bank can compete with the big banks and still give that community small bank feel.

    Cons

    Management is completely disconnected from the retail staff. They set unrealistic goals and make requests that they themselves are not willing to do.

    Advice to Management

    Understand that the staff have families and lives too just like you.

    Pros

    First Merchants is an excellent place to work. It is very much a team oriented environment, where teammates support and encourage one another to succeed. Those that work hard are identified and recognized by management. There are great advancement opportunities for hard workers willing to put in the time and effort. Upper management cares about employees and their success.

    Cons

    I can't think of a single con.

    Keep growing!

    Paid holidays, half day Saturday's & off Sunday's

    Cons

    This company is not a place for growth, they push products & the services aren't up to par, the turn over rate is ridiculously high because employees want to be treated as more than just a number

    Advice to Management

    Care about your employees
