Pros

1) Decent set of clients spread across different industries 2) Parts of the business have very smart and informed people 3) Well meaning culture, despite being a little directionless

Cons

1) Poor direction and comms from the board down 2) Blind to the competition in some of the regions 3) Poor decision making on the direction of the product roadmap

Pros

Nice tech stack, mostly nice people and nice balance to the workload. Great offices and benefits.

Cons

Staff turnover is awful, for a reason. People that have no business working with other people and should not have passed the most basic HR screening are allowed to roam freely. The management is turning a blind eye just because they have some technical know-how. Individuals can be fired but management culture is hard to change, avoid!

As for the second part of your review, we hope you can provide more insight during our next enps survey, as we would be very interested in understanding why you would feel the way you described. Indeed, in terms of staff turnover, we feel we are doing pretty well: - 40% of our software developers have been with us for more than 5 years. - In January 2023, we had a staff turnover rate of 7.5% which is below our industry average. - In average, our current staff has been with us for 3.25 years. Our employees are also happy, as shown by our recent employee net promoter score of 53. Finally, we have a serious HR screening process and make sure we hire staff at a reasonable pace in order to provide them the best onboarding experience and make sure we keep our culture, which we are really proud of.

Company never grew. Lay offs and turnover

Hi and thanks for your review. This does not feel like us, though: at Freespee, we put our people first. Everybody has a chance to thrive within the company, and we would never terminate anyone’s employment without discussing the matter first. We also have exciting plans for our future, in which we involve everyone in the company.
