I have been working at GAIL full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good opportunity for beginners to mid level professionals. Excellent learning opportunity if you intend to work hard. Pay is good at beginner and entry level.

    Cons

Sluggish, uncertain and very time bound growth. Irrespective of the effort, one is never sure about his promotions. Fixed minimal annual hike in salary. Sword of transfer looms on your head every year during March April because of unreasonable transfer policies.

    Advice to Management

Excellent bunch of hardworking individuals land up every year at GAIL. Don't get them involved in and make them do miscellaneous work taking away their focus from the work that actually needs to be done.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Good salary as per Indian conditions. Reasonably Good Training facilities,

    Cons

A worthless, corrupt & egoistic Sr Management, leads to low morale in the middle & junior echelons of career ladder.

    Advice to Management

Adhere to Norms for HR, Trg & Promotions. No regulations for transfer & Promotion policy ails this company. " Show me the employee & I shall draft the rules for him" - is a routine happening. Highly Corrupt & obnoxious Sr Management always has been sailing through the corridors of power & Politics, in India.
