    Pros

Paid well. Friendly HR. Should've been a great experience.

    Cons

It wasn't mentioned I would be a contractor at a third party in the interview process. My boss was also a contractor for GDR and played a lot of political games to go full time there. She was weird and backwards, and wasn't effective communicating. She'd fly into rages over things she'd structured and passed off that weren't received well, then blame it on everyone else. We were treated as inferior contractors by employees. Loved the work, hated the environment and GDR group.

    Advice to Management

    Less politics, less deception.

I worked at GDR Group full-time

    Pros

Good for when you are starting out in the IT field.

    Cons

Sexist management, leads throw you under the bus to supervisors fo rfollowing their advise, denies time off for Doctor appointments, unprofessional supervisors who cuss at you out and yell at you, little to no training, confusing documentation, lack of communication with contracted customers, discrimination of people with certain health problems, failure to flirt with management will get you written up, low pay, don't make enough money to sue them for discrimination.

    Advice to Management

Treat both women and men the same, when people have health problems that have been documented to you give them what they need, communicate better with customer you contract with, don't come up with bogus claims against an employee because she respects herself enough not to flirt with you to get her way, be professional with your employees and listen to their side of the story, do not tolerate leads throwing other employees under the bus, listen to all employees of all genders and statuses, offer better wages to employees so they want to stick around

    Pros

Much freedom to work at your own pace. This job was very low-stress. Many of my fellow co-workers were very cool and fun to work with.

    Cons

Some management needs more training in management skills. In my case, there was a little bit of a hazing problem when I first started. This continued on, especially to those who were foreign.

    Advice to Management

Improve team cohesion, take classes on how to manage a team. During downtimes, think of tasks your team can do so they do not get bored.

I worked at GDR Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay was decent. Tools provided were sufficient. Break areas were nice. Not much else.

    Cons

Poorly managed. Inconsistent rule/ policy enforcement. Special treatment of certain employees were obvious. Hypocrisy is rampant from management.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate special treatment and treat everyone as equals.

I worked at GDR Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the best coworkers I've ever had the pleasure of working with. The reason I stayed around for as long as I did is because I loved working with the people I worked with.

The benefits are okay nothing horrible yet nothing amazing.

    Paid holidays

    Free meals sometimes

    Cons

It's all office politics with GDR. At least at the Broadcom office. Unless you are in with the management team you are not going anywhere with this company. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people get away with something that others wouldn't just because they are friends with management.

Turn over rate in IT is high and it's hard to keep the good ones do to substandard pay.

Kick you to the curb attitude. If they don't like you for whatever reason, you are gone simple as that. Also don't try and speak up about anything or you will be asked to come into a meeting on a Friday with HR to be shown the door.

    Advice to Management

Pay people their worth. The turnover rate is so high because the good ones leave for jobs that pay them what they deserve while the ones who aren't qualified stay.

Stop the favoritism it's quiet ridiculous. Everyone knows it happens but for some reason it continues.
