Pros

A steady paycheck or a source of income.

Cons

Grant Thornton is not what I would consider on the same level as the Big 4. If you do your research, they have tons of lawsuits brought against them. Also, they are really sneaky in extending a job offer, in the end they would lowball you. They also have the most intrusive background check, you almost feel like you are running for public office. In the end, they do not have respect for your privacy and it's really not worth it in the end to work for a company with a bad reputation like Grant Thornton.

Pros

GT is looking to increase its market penetration and brand awareness on the consulting/advisory side. This provides opportunities to contribute toward business development initiatives and identify new opportunities for services. The firm’s culture is pleasant and collaborative, it has a high focus on organic growth. Colleagues for the most part are intelligent and driven.

Cons

Within HCAP (healthcare advisory), a team of about 40 consultants, leadership seems a bit lost. The group does not have a strategic plan or direction to compete against larger firms. Salary is market competitive but bonuses are on the low end due to the overall financial performance of the firm. Human resource support for consulting basics like travel booking, time logging, corporate cards, and cell phone is very poor. The structure for submitting career goals, fostering individual development ,and granting promotions is loose to non-existent. Turnover for the practice has been high which negates their aggressive hiring strategy. If you are looking at GT coming from the Big Four or a boutique consultancy, reevaluate your decision.
