I worked at HAVI full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company has a lot of potential. The market has shown a interest in their products and capabilities because of their long-term association with McDonalds.
It's a global company with several different lines of business, and it's working hard to integrate between them. That means the opportunity to work internationally across a range of businesses.
The company is small enough that your voice can be heard. In general, senior leadership is accessible. Because of high turn-over, lots of opportunities to advance.
    Benefits have always been good.

    Cons

What used to be a truly employee driven culture has been slowly dying over the last few years since the executive buyout. It's becoming a much more sterile, transaction driven sort of employment.
At least in the US, there doesn't seem to be any sort of realistic long-term business plan. It's in a downward spiral and it's not clear there is a plan to right the company. It's hard to recommend HAVI until the business stabilizes.

    Advice to Management

Get serious about the direction of the company.

I worked at HAVI full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, health, 401K, profit share, interactive employee social events.

    Cons

Reorganizing causing fear with all employees including management.. Long or short-term employees being bumped. Make friends high up to advance. Sad to say at times it's not what you know but who you know or knew in previous companies.

    Advice to Management

Communication is the key. Many meetings stressed company had poor communications but they still do. Less meetings about what should be done and more about action on these items.

I worked at HAVI full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Experience varies widely across the organization based on your department and your leadership. Pay and benefits are good. Office environment is clean and modern. Lots of fun activities and development opportunities planned.

In the right team, you can have the opportunity to grow, learn and develop. Your career journey is up to you to drive, but if you've got good skills and dedication, Havi can be a good place for you. The work and industry is important, moving fast, and changing everyday.

    Cons

The experience across the organization varies so widely, it is hard to have a consistent experience or relationships. Many experience favoritism, unfair treatment, pressure to work very long hours, and a "just do what the customer wants" leadership mentality. Employees who bring creative or fresh ideas are left unsatisfied if they have bad leader.

My experience was overall positive, but the (justifiable) negative energy and vibe from others creates a sometimes volatile experience.

    Advice to Management

Still unclear if recent changes to the leadership and organizational structure will help Havi succeed going forward.

You've got great people working for you at every level of the organization. Some bad leaders (from the c-suite all the way to lower level managers) and some leftover bad culture from previous versions of Havi (and the holding company) will continue to hamper your growth and ability to keep good young people.

    Pros

Benefits are good. Good medical, good pay, summer hours

    Cons

You will be overloaded with work. Expect to work 50hrs a week on the best case scenario. Management sucks very "ladder" like environment and you can feel it. The company culture is horrible. Very easy to get fired. Turn over extremely high. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!

    Advice to Management

Give your employees a break. Life is meant to be live outside not inside an office.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at HAVI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Many people really care about providing the best service and best products for their customers.
A lot of very nice people on a personal level but few who are willing to make waves for fear of their job,
Benefits are decent but somewhat oversold.

    Cons

Face time oriented. Very concerned about where you do your work (in the office after hours viewed much better than at home after hours) vs. how you do it/quality.
A lot of pettiness between functional groups.
Very little customer diversification. If McDonald's goes away HAVI will quickly crumble.
    Current culture is impeding progress.
If you haven't been there for years watch your back. The old guard doesn't like new people coming close to their territory.
    Lack of true advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Figure out what is important and break down the silos. The old school mentality casts such a negative shadow across the company. Their is a air of superiority/self-importance that many have that impedes progress.

I worked at HAVI full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, nice people to work with

    Cons

The culture needs a lot of help. 50 hours is the average work week. Anything less than they they will look at you like you arent doing enough. It is very important for you to physically be in the office. Flexible work isn't an option. Management will hold back information and employees hear news through the rumor mill. Even about their own managers leaving the organization.

    Advice to Management

Have a clear vision and stick to it.
