I worked at HSM Solutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    -Good health benefits
    -Most holidays are paid vacation
    -Friendly working environment
    -

    Cons

-Management does not take workers concerns into account
-Over time employees will be expected to adhere to stricter attendance conduct standards as the company favors sweeping policies over individual conflict resolution

    Advice to Management

-Pay attention to the things your lower level employees think about their work and the company's future
-Start planning real fundamental changes to problems instead of bandaid patches for recurring issues
-Modernize equipment and training methods so that your lower level workforce can actually compete
-You are losing some of your skilled workers to poor middle management practices that are cutting their hours and driving them to other employment
-Be genuine with the people under you and stop blasting constant propaganda about how great everything is in the company
-Instead of developing internal products the company focuses solely on building components for an overly competitive furniture and seating industry

    Pros

I can say the pay rate was reasonable.

    Cons

Too many demands not productive lack of training from the trainers they really want you to push it its very hot in the plant in these summer months and they don't even have coolers on the floor near by to quench your thirst if you fall out they just send you home and replace you the money offered at a hourly rate is not even worth the time or effort they don't care for their employees just the customers if it wasn't for the employees who get the orders out you wont have any customers don't you think? what a bomber not being rude just honest in the fact of opinion.

    Advice to Management

need to work on all people skills in general not abuse your authority in positon focus saying thanks for the hard work guys show gratefulness and you reap the rewards in the employees to do a hard days work each and every time to meet that daily quarter.

I worked at HSM Solutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits package(insurance, 401k,credit Union) some really good people struggling to work here. Pay is average. Work is fairly good,

    Cons

Day to day drama, Management lacks goal orientation. Treat employees with little or no respect. A lot of favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Get counseling, You need team building skills to make a company strong, employees make up that company. How you treat them on everyday will only demoralize their work ethics an create frustration. Most employees don't need much interaction, but create a few bad apples an the whole bunch goes bad.

Management sucks, you don't know when you're gonna get off work. You don't even do the job you apply for.

    Advice to Management

Find out the strengths of your workers and KEEP THEM IN ONE SPOT! Also improve your second shift at the Arlington location.

    Pros

Insurance, insurance, insurance, insurance, insurance, insurance, insurance, insurance, insurance, insurance, insurance, insurance, insurance,Insurance,Insurance,Insurance,Insurance,Insurance,Insurance,Insurance. Bathroom break, lunch, and you get to go home.

    Cons

You get one 20 minute break. It's extremely hot inside in the summer, fall, and spring. They don't pay skilled welders very well. Hispanics are the preferred workers as to any other race. Ultimately they just don't care about the workers. They care about productivity and that is it.
