    Pros

HTC is a very innovative company with an incredible ability to manifest ideas into the market quickly. HTC provides lots of career growth opportunities and international experience as its head quarters is based in Taiwan.

    Cons

Late night calls at odd hours were a bear. The work never stops when you are collaborating with teams on the other side of the world.

    Advice to Management

Continue to innovate and get ahead of the market. HTC has a strong history of "firsts" and is beginning to loose its luster in the mobility game. VR is its strongest hold in the future right now.

    Pros

    Great products and good people

    Cons

Slump in smartphone market share in the US. Overall trending is not looking good for the future of this company

    Advice to Management

There needs to be sense of urgency from top to bottom to turn things around quickly or they will lose more people.

I worked at HTC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits package is decent. Plenty of freedom to be your own boss. Good work-life balance as long as you aren't running nonstop fire-drills (and there were many) The people were often the best part of working at HTC.

    Cons

No opportunities to really advance unless you're in the "inner circle". CEO and upper executives running company into the ground. Bad decisions left and right. Burning through money on poor decisions.Don't listen to their boots on the ground. Call themselves "scrappy" and "underdogs" to justify making employees work multiple job duties, but without any pay advancements. In the companies glory days (Roughly between 2009 and end of 2011) they made a lot of money and gave raises, bonuses, and advancements frequently. Currently, they struggle to stay floating. Frequently laying off employees or re-organizing just about every 6 months. All the work of the previous employees falls to the remaining employees---but without any additional compensation. You get the "You're lucky to have a job" mentality around there. Most old-schoolers and upper management that have been around a long time started jumping ship at the first signs of trouble because they knew this titanic was going down.

    Advice to Management

Clean house at the executive level. That's where your problems are. The same people have been nose-diving the company into the ground for years. Stop laying off your highly skilled, highly underpaid employees to save short-term cash so that you can justify keeping the terribly inept upper management. Drop the current CEO, she's ruining the company. Pay people what they are worth, or at least try to come close---you drive talent away by treating them like "the hired help"instead of as valued, skilled, professionals.

    Pros

Entrepreneurship encouraged. Flexible on schedule. Quality tools. Progressive culture. Actually get to ship products.

    Cons

Lots of C-suite direction, constant pivoting and reacting. Some degree of cronyism. Pay not competitive.

    Advice to Management

Applying reactionary directive without recognizing employee efforts discounts their investments. Re-establish trust between management and the people that do the work - this is a form of currency and compensation.

I have been working at HTC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Salary, compensation is good. Lots of fun events and free lunchs

    Cons

The company is not transparency on all things, there is no insight or direction to the business. Being as employee, nobody know how is company doing? Also, too many layoff.

    Advice to Management

If there is no bonus or merit increase, it is very hard to keep good people
