I worked at HTC part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It was a good experience to work with people across the world.

    Cons

While bosses are lenient on where you do your work (on-site or remote), you are sometimes obligated to join a call with oversea office. That is, evening or dawn (US time).

    I worked at HTC full-time

    Pros

Great company benefits including good cafeteria, gym and other amenities. Company still has lots of cash.

    Cons

Highly political environment. The best and brightest have left long ago. Low moral due to declining sales. Company is burning through cash at an extreme rate.

    Advice to Management

Sell the whole company. Clearly the VR unit will not be able to sustain the entire company.

    Pros

Its a easy and relaxing place with a magnificent scenery of mountains.

    Cons

Although there is a magnificent scenery you might get board after six hrs of work.

    Advice to Management

If you like a gorgeous road you will love this job. I actually haven't told you where it's at I've only given you a clue.

I worked at HTC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Benefits, Decent Pay, Plenty of snacks and most of the people are easy to work with. Like any company there will be challenging personalities.

    Cons

Forgot how to complete in a brutal market for mobile phones when the competition arrived. This has been answered not by innovation, but mass layoffs which are continuing as I write this Rolling the dice on VR which is a fine product but market penetration is low due to the high entry cost to participate.

    Advice to Management

What management? Most of them either were laid off or left a sinking ship.

I worked at HTC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Smart, passionate people. Interesting hardware.

    Cons

Really poor interview process, lack of follow up, missed commitments and no travel expense reimbursement (still waiting after 2 months)

    Advice to Management

Fix the interview process. Don't make promises you have no intention of keeping. Treat candidates with respect. After all, you are trying to hire these people.

    Cons

Poor management decision, lack of process, lack of investment and they never paid their vendors.

    I worked at HTC full-time

    Pros

*Highly qualified and innovative work force
*Great office location in Seattle and Bellevue
*Friendly work environment and flexible work schedule
    *Above average pay

    Cons

*Total disconnect between Taiwan and N. American workforce
    *Poor benefit
    *Seniority model
    *Lack of training

    Advice to Management

It is shameful to see senior executives travel from Taiwan to Seattle/Bellevue offices with empty suitcases so they can bring goods from Amazon back to Taiwan for personal uses. There was a conference room in office dedicate to receive and store those packages before those executives show up. It was sad to see office admin spend hours sorting those package while N. American employees shake their heads.
