Pros
the only pro is the amount of PTO
Cons
There are so many cons I don't think I have room to list them all. The executives, HR, and management are extremely dishonest and have no regard for their employees. There's a huge lack in communication and training is nonexistent. Employees are seen as means to an end to help line the executives line their pockets. The CEO was approved for a large raise while the company handed out 1 and 2 % raises to it's staff. You will not be provided opportunity to advance unless you are favorited by management. Severely understaffed in areas and the new hires coming are being offered remote positions along with higher wages then the current employees that are forced to come into office. The company is doing absolutely nothing to retain its current talent and doing little to attract new talent. The executives and upper management are coasting along and biding time until the company is sold and/or moved completely to the new HQ in Colorado.

Pros
They allow you to work remotely (pending your job role).
Cons
The board is a mess, seemingly made up of two factions with competing objectives. It seems the CEO is solely focused on selling the company as he stands to make a serious amount of money on the transactions. As such, everything you do is about doing it fast so HTLF can hit certain milestones/projections to facilitate a sale. Doing things the correct way to avoid future issues does not come into the equation. You’re given the minimum amount of time, at best, to get projects done. Then, if they even notice that things are breaking, your talked down to and grilled as to why a program isn’t working as intended.

Pros

- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
People in the banks are great. Benefits are ok and PTO is nice.
Cons
HTLF leadership does not care about employees. They will say they do but their actions are say something else. At the highest level in the company, managing by humiliation and fear is standard.

HTLF Bank gives lip service to diversity. Ageism, racism, sexism and misogyny are the cornerstone of this company.
Jan 29, 2023 - Customer Care Manager in Los Angeles, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Remote work life and made positive networking connections with former employees and honest current employees (planning their exit). Great health benefits.
Cons
Caution to anyone over the age of 35 and under the age of 70 years of age. If you are a retiree, former military, stay at home parent, former self-employed/entrepreneurial background or graduate student over 30, HTLF Bank only gives lip service regarding diversity. Disparaging milieu once your bosses, peers and subordinates find out via meetings you are in your 40s or retired from the armed forces for example. They treat employees in the customer care department who have a wealth of work and educational experience from age 35 and beyond as dinosaurs and relics who are an inconvenience to their workplace. Don't waste your time and energy if you are over 35. They don't value people who speak standard English and other languages either. I personally experienced ageism. I witnessed through emails to online meetings racism, bigotry, sexism and misogyny of colleagues and other employees. Employees on my team were the victims of racism and some sexism. If you speak out via email to Human Resources about the uncouth and disparaging behavior of racist employees then you are scrutinized and made to feel that you are a "problem" because you brought it to the attention of management and human resources about irrefutable racism and sexist actions and behavior. HTLF Bank really doesn't value critical thinking adults who try to foster an ethical and non-discriminatory workplace.
