Interview with the HR rep was pleasant, reviewed my skills and experience and talked about the role and the company. The next interview with the hiring manager raised a lot of subtle red flags - last person in this role left after six months, suddenly, and didn't not leave any usable work. Everyone in the department is between 20-40 years old. (Me being over 40, I assumed this wasn't going to work). I was hoping for a discussion of my skills and experience, but it was more him asking random marketing definitions. I don't have time to memorize fluffy marketing terms, I'm busy getting work done. Maybe I don't know the specific names in Google to compare it to what I know in Adobe. After the interview, he then sent me an email saying everything I talked about was wrong. I really think he didn't listen to me at all and was very jaded about the last candidate. Sometimes I think rejections are a blessing, and I hope the next candidate is in their 20s and lasts longer than six months.
