I have been working at Hanjin Shipping full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Gain office experience, increase detail oriented and data entry skills.

    Cons

Unfortunately they don't offer good compensation for amount of work and the precision expected. Training is minimal and lest...

I worked at Hanjin Shipping full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Great way to get your foot in the door. Good coworkers. Company’s health insurance was difficult to beat. Overall, was generally a positive experience.

      Cons

The company went bankrupt. Some hints of mismanagement. Some employees were unjustly preferred over others. Compensation could have been a little better.

      Advice to Management

I worked at Hanjin Shipping for more than 19 years

      Pros

Best Medical Insurance. Great employees. Pay was ok (especially, if you started working with them 6 years ago). Free monthly lunch.

      Cons

Korean management was very biased & snobbish. No room for promotions, since they only promoted their very own people. Most promotions were by favoritism if your Supervisor / Manager was Korean. The US office was controlled as if they were still in Asia, with very bad English.

      Advice to Management

Company does not exist anymore. Ship drowned with mostly very good reliable employees. Let's hope they do what's right with the new Company that was established.

      Pros

      - Great health benefits (no employee contribution) - Standard 401k and PTOs - Great people to work with

      Cons

      - Glass ceiling; unless you got hired in Korea there is very limited upward mobility - Low base salary - Uneven distribution of workload
