I worked at High Point Regional Health full-time

    Pros

This is a fun place to work, overall the doctors were pleasant as well as the employees. Easy commute in the town as well.

    Cons

Low Pay. Had to work on the weekends and evenings as well. No upward growth, and no raise. Company was shaky in stability

    Advice to Management

Keep on expanding. The company overall is doing very well. Maybe having a bonus at the end of the year will be helpful for the employees

I have been working at High Point Regional Health part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

very friendly people to work with

    Cons

Big influx of New Management who are out of touch with the workers

    Advice to Management

Management should round throughout the facility to get a feel for what the employees need

I worked at High Point Regional Health (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great position for entry level person looking to pursue a degree in therapy or other healthcare establishment.

    Cons

Can be stressful upon the body. If you are not sure where you want to go in the future, the job can wear on you mentally. Not making enough to provide for family. Really a for the moment job.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at High Point Regional Health full-time

    Pros

The recent affiliation with UNC Health Care has brought some great changes to High Point Regional. The Hospital owned physician practice, UNC Regional Physicians, has grown tremendously over the past year, and I believe being tied to a great medical University has helped drive that growth.

    Cons

Some of the Senior Leadership team is VERY set in their ways.

I worked at High Point Regional Health full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Small community hospital with a family like environment. The regional hospitalist are great to work with and we finally have a CEO with a vision.

    Cons

Nursing is struggling and pay is not competitive. Some of the leadership are still from the old circle and only care about looking good vs making the environment better.

    Advice to Management

Get the right people in the right places . Nursing is the key to success.

I worked at High Point Regional Health full-time

    Pros

Very easy going environment. Employees are easy to work with. Opportunity to learn is great

    Cons

The only downside was the inability to advance but that was due to limited education on my part at the time

    Advice to Management

Management did a fine job at communicating with employees and not placing undue stress on employees

I worked at High Point Regional Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There was one a strong family atmosphere in this facility, but small issues became big, big issues became small. I used to be excited to go into work, but after a few managerial changes, that changed drastically.

    Cons

There was a lot of pettiness...managers having time to drink coffee for three hours, and accuse people of trash talk, but major current issues were not addressed, such as being short staffed with high acuity patients, and therapists unable to attend transports, and not given the opportunity to intubate

    Advice to Management

I know there is a limit to keeping employees happy, but working short and having more responsibilities is a risk to one's license

I have been working at High Point Regional Health (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The people, the location, the caring atmosphere.

    Cons

The environmental staff is falling down on the job and it shows all over the facility.

    Advice to Management

We've come a long way in the past 18 months. Keep up the good work.

I worked at High Point Regional Health part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

great benefits, wonderful people to work with, hospital was always clean, people were friendly and helpful, volunteers were a huge part of their customer service

    Cons

supervisors and managers were never willing to discuss decisions that concerned the entire department, the way the lay offs were handled were, in my opinion, harsh with very little reasoning as to why certain people who had been there for years were let go over newer employees
