    Pros

People are not micromanaged. Lots of schedule flexibility.

    Cons

No roadmaps. Uncertain future. Company goes up and down. Software is buggy and nobody owns the problem. Lots of finger pointing. Execs manage by spreadsheet numbers. If numbers look, bad and they usually do, layoffs happen, randomly. Direction of company changes constantly.

    Advice to Management

Plan for future. Build a roadmap and stick to it. Quit managing the best engineers out of the company when they make suggestions. Geez they just might be right.

I worked at IP Infusion full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working with talented engineers and developers was great. Learned so much, and always appreciated their support of tech pubs. Weekly outdoor barbecues in the summer were fun, and a neat way to meet and interact with other teams, and even senior management. I loved working here!

    Cons

Sometimes difficult to get one-on-one time with SMEs because they were often re-tasked with work on customer-specific projects that were a higher priority than the planned feature or enhancement releases.

    Advice to Management

Improve regular compensation increases. Working at the same salary for five years is a bit daunting when the overall cost of living is constantly on the rise.

I worked at IP Infusion full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Have a proven product line in an uncrowded tech segment with good engineering.

    Cons

Japanese parent company, ACCESS Ltd. has no clear understanding of IPI's business and the poor leadership has trickled down from Tokyo to Sunnyvale.

    Advice to Management

Sell the firm to a SW or Silicon company.

I worked at IP Infusion full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Was able to develop new processes since it was a start up. Benefits were great for the company of its size.

    Cons

Ineffective management was hired. This led to overall moral problems and several key people were laid off or left on their own. Stock options never happened. Poor communication from Sr. management to the employees.

    Advice to Management

Should have had clearer expectations from HQ from the start as to what was expected. The company kept reinventing itself to the point that it lost its identity and was not clear to the employees. Cost cutting will kill this company. There are too many other companies in the area to work that fosters better employee moral while not having to work yourself to death.

No process (Seems even lost CMMI L3)
Not enough powers to appropriate people
No long-term vision and no roadmap
    Very Close to die

    Advice to Management

    Investment in Technology and product
    Transfer power to right hands
Make strategy and execute it to atleast know if its working or not
Look long term, profitability is not the only job left for COO
