    Pros

Some good people who are happy to help.

    Cons

Senior management are awful, totally ignore staff until there's a problem then it's all about the blame game. Don't provide any support and just expect people to get on with it. Provide very little feedback or support for career progression. Very negative atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

Treat staff with respect. Take responsibility for your decisions instead of passing the buck to line managers. Provide feedback and support staff in their career progression. Be a positive influence.

I have been working at IRIS Software Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Clear direction and management
Good buzz on the sales floor
It's high pressure and some people like that some don't but you can be sure you know what numbers you need to hit.

    Cons

Large Number of people in the business and some are more willing to help than others.
Systems could do with an update (which has been recognised and is underway!)

    Advice to Management

Be sure to recognise those who may go under the radar. There is a lot of praise for top performers ( and rightly so) but be sure to recognise effort and process as well as end results.

I worked at IRIS Software Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

IRIS has great people working for the organisation. They are also rapidly expanding and are going places commercially speaking.

    My line manager was excellent.

    Cons

HR and training is poor. There simply isn't enough career progression unless you are an elitist clique. There is an offer of performance based bonus where the appraisal doesn't actually happen and if you're lucky, you might gain the bonus in July (when appraisals happen in May).

When resigning, HR are unfair and impersonal, even if you were hard working and good at what you did. What was very disappointing is directors don't offer training opportunities easily, and once you have resigned and working notice - you're dead to them.

    Advice to Management

Your HR processes are too reliant on technology and you don't appreciate how impersonal the experience is. For example, an exit interview is meant to be personal, not a survey in your HR system that you ignore.

What is more worrying, at a company meeting - you praise people's performance, but in fact the company missed FY by someway I was led to believe. That's not being honest in my mind. It was also mentioned at the same meeting by senior member of HR that "you don't value or measure people's feedback on glassdoor", that's a sure sign of putting your head in the sand and you know that the stuff raised here is in fact happening at IRIS, but you just wish to ignore it.

Finally, people are your asset - even when they are on notice. I had not deserved to be given poor treatment as to what I experienced from director levels. This needs rethinking as if this had not happened, I would have given a better review.

Also - I and many people in my field look at glassdoor before taking a job, you might want to value glassdoor more seriously.

I worked at IRIS Software Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The products. IRIS has a fantastic product range with industry leading software.

Culture for employees is great, you instantly make friends and the social side is perfect for graduates.

Get to leave at 5pm every day which you can't argue with!

    Cons

Senior management. This is the biggest shame as the pros above are so genuine. The term 'paper over the cracks' could not be more apparent than in the Faulkner House office.
People are criticized for not selling the way the director wants to.
Talk time is more important than a good service.
Employees are pushed to write good reviews!
Incentives mask how people are treated .
No business processes in place, unprofessional is an understatement .
All of this comes from the culture at the top.
Only way to get promoted is by being favoured or length of service.

    Advice to Management

Start again with senior management. The basis is there for such a successful division but too many people are leaving and instead of looking at retention they just bring more and more through the doors.

Great products, great people, poor management.
