I worked at InfoPro Learning full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Knowledgeable support teams. The team in India works really hard to support their counterparts in the US. The US team is trying very hard to become a leading vendor for L&D. Top leadership is very easy to work with. Open door policy is nice.

    Cons

There is a steep hill to climb to attain the financial goals that the leadership has set forth. The middle management lead is a control freak, micro manager. Not inspiring. Not motivating. Leadership is not solving quality issues when it comes to delivering high quality products and they are not providing equal support to all employees.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job at surveying the employees to find out if there are ways to get to the root of the issues. Follow through with paying commissions to sales teams. Don't keep changing the goal post. Have clearer and more attainable goals and career growth plans.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at InfoPro Learning full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is a small company with not much talent or ambition so if you're looking to be a big fish in a small pond, you're in the right place. No one is really in charge here and the buck stops no where so you can get away with most things.

    Cons

This is a little hole in the wall with no ambition, so don't expect to go places with them. If you're good, it will take you about a year to achieve everything you can achieve here, so have the next step planned. It is fairly frustrating to be surrounded by people who are dull and plodding along. It is even more frustrating when the smart people spend more of their time plotting and scheming instead of trying to achieve bigger and better goals. Despite being a small company, InfoPro is strangely bureaucratic. I think its because they're all competing for a piece of the same little pie.

    Advice to Management

Stop being defensive about everything. Management isn't just about crises management and risk mitigation, it's also about having a vision and leading people to achieve something greater than they could have on their own. Have a little confidence in your own capabilities and stop being terrified that someone will dethrone you. Your time would be better spent leading from the front rather than cowering in the corner covering your ass.
