I have been working at Infragistics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Smart, interesting people who genuinely care about creating good products

    Cons

Leadership unable to pivot to new market realities, tend to punish employees rather than accept responsibility. Frequent layoffs make for very low morale.

I worked at Infragistics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice office, pretty good food on-site, small on-site gym

    Cons

Company is in the middle of nowhere, geographically and philosophically. Tend to hire people who they consider “experts” and then not listen to them, often hiring people to do a job, then not letting them do that job, then laying them off. Need to make a MASSIVE change in direction, but afraid to follow through on anything that doesn’t work overnight. Living in the past and banking on dead-end technologies...

    Pros

Very kind people and the company treated its employees very well.

    Cons

The US location isn't incredibly convenient, although it is relatively close to New Brunswick and if you like living in more rural areas, its great!

I worked at Infragistics full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    * Awesome people (most of whom lost their jobs in layoffs) * Beautiful building and location in central NJ * On-site cafe with good food * Casual dress code * Excellent opportunities for learning

    Cons

    * Layoffs are a constant threat * No company direction - constantly shifting priorities without any plan to make a profit * C-level are all middle-aged men who don't care about anyone but themselves * Everyone is underpaid * The culture has changed from very open and caring to a misguided cost-cutting scramble

    Advice to Management

Layoffs are not a plan for success. Take care of your existing customers, or you will be shutting your doors in 2 years. Know your target market for future products. Value and respect your employees, or you will have no one left.

I have been working at Infragistics full-time

    Pros

Amazing work life balance, interesting projects, great team, cool office building, open PTO.

    Cons

No bonuses, no recognition by senior management for outstanding performance, tiny raises, recent mass firing resulted in 20+ employees being given only 2 weeks severance each - even those who had been there for 10+ years - and benefits discontinued at midnight. Senior management does not care about employees. HR is disinterested and in denial. This is all really sad because the company has the potential to be pretty close...

    Advice to Management

Actually look at what works and what doesn't and don't just steer your ship into an iceberg because you personally want it to go in that direction even if it doesn't jive with the reality of how your company is performing.

    I worked at Infragistics full-time

    Pros

    Subsidized meals and nice facility.

    Cons

After the last round of layoffs resources are paper thin. Absolutely NO onboarding and the staff is running on fumes. Management is horrible. My direct report asked things of me just 3 weeks in that really she should have worked with me on. Stressful, chaotic atmosphere. Doubt they will last much longer.

    Advice to Management

Get it together! Make sure there are enough resources to get things done. Should have a solid onboarding process so new employees are supported and provided with the information and tools they need.

I worked at Infragistics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Cool building, gym, some departments have unlimited PTO.

    Cons

I’d strongly advise against taking a position at the company. Pay is well below average with zero room for growth pretty much across the board. The company is struggling due to poor decisions over the last few years by management. Every other year or so they lay off a good portion of the staff but the people making decisions never changes. The company lacks diversity, touts open PTO but allows managers to be very strict...

I worked at Infragistics full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people Interesting work Work hard, play hard culture Unlimited PTO Work from home in moderation is allowed Onsite gym Free drinks and fruit Pool table BBQs in the summer Multiple, fun company gatherings per year Massage chair Beautiful building

    Cons

On occasion, leadership that is a poor fit is brought in rather than sought from within the company. Departments work in silos leading to subpar company-wide communication. Leadership could be more transparent. Pay could be more competitive.

    Advice to Management

Look to the talented people within the company to help illuminate the path forward and empower them to affect positive change. Continue to make UX a top priority in all that you produce. Slow down and continue to focus on quality.
