I have been working at Inovio Biomedical full-time

    Pros

Great benefits. Most companies now only offer HMO, Inovio has PPO which costs almost nothing for the whole family. Very strong vacation, 401k, stock options, etc etc
    Free snacks and drinks.
Opened up new building that is first class.
    Market rate salary
Exciting biotech in potentially last phase of FDA approval

    Cons

    Bad Commute to Sorrento Valley

    Advice to Management

Don't hire too fast. Remain selective with candidates and keep placing a high emphasis soft skills to help foster a great company culture.

Keep the great benefits, snacks, and team building events. This is what separates you from other employers and makes it a top place to work.

I worked at Inovio Biomedical as a contractor

    Pros

Good employee feelings, free snacks, monthly "Happy Hour"

    Cons

Monthly Happy Hour......until somebody gets in an alcohol related accident after attending one of these. Major Liability issue.

    Advice to Management

Find another way to keep people happy.

I worked at Inovio Biomedical full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great if you want to get a foot in the door in the biotech industry. The work is straight forward and not too difficult.

    Cons

Work can be repetitive after a while. Small company so there is not much room for growth in positions. Shifts may need time to get used to.

    Advice to Management

Needs more organization, high turnover at times so please give more competitive wages. Work more to promote team building for shifts.

    Pros

Laid back culture, most managers give you the freedom to complete tasks and do not micromanage but do require deadlines

    Cons

Terrible pay. Some people who do not deserve supervisory roles receive supervisory roles because management thinks they get work done quickly but they are also sometimes terrible people who treat others like garbage and have little respect for subordinates.

    Advice to Management

Don't give supervisory roles to people who treat others like trash

    Benefits were very competitive.

    Cons

Salary range for new employees was too narrow.

    Advice to Management

Senior management needed more input from junior managers.

I worked at Inovio Biomedical as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Knowledgable Management, Friendly work place

    Cons

Being a Mid-sized pharmaceutical company the job requires individuals to learn techniques on their own.
