    Family-oriented pharmaceutical company

    Pros

The advantage of being a smaller pharma company (compared to others in the area such as Pfizer or Scripps) is that there is a very collaborative atmosphere across several departments. The work-life balance was very manageable, and the novel technologies developed by Inovio fueled my motivation to work. There are many oppotunities for growth within the company and benefits are great!

    Cons

More transparency of fair salaries across job titles. I ended up being paid much less than fellow employees with the same job description and prior experience.

    Company Falling Apart

    Pros

Great co-workers who care about good science.

    Cons

Poor executive and scientific leadership has squandered the company's position as an industry leader in COVID vaccine research. Significant numbers of people jumping ship every month - legal and clinical operations department cannot keep up with the losses.

    Pros

    Cons

Very low pay Lots of processes are manually done and can be very tedious (Sometimes I get stuck repeating the same task due to not have an automated system) Not enough resources and can easily get beat out by bigger pharma

    Meh

    Pros

Solid life-sciences company with exciting pace. CEO is absolutely amazing and really cares about all employees. He honestly makes a point to get to know (and remember!) all 200-300 people in both locations.

    Cons

Outdated software programs. Many employees shared complaints of high school-style "clicks" in their departments, which was certainly prevalent in mine.

    Great science but poor management!

    Pros

    Great platform with strong foundation

    Cons

    - Terrible management: upper managers don't care about those below them. They don't listen and refuse to address issues. They are NOT open with constructive criticisms. Anyone who express their concerns to the uppermangers are automatically considered as a trouble-makers and get punished. - Favorism: There are alot of favorism at work place that only kiss-a**ers tend to get promoted while people who actually care about the company get ignored or bullied. - Low salary (at least less than 20k compared to other companies in San Diego). - Promotion is for those who are sweet talkers. People who actually work hard for many years barely get promotions. - Mismanagement of resources: spend tons of money on company parties and holidays that results a huge layoff for those below while C-levels/VPs still keep their jobs safely!!! - HRs just sit there and do NOTHING!

    Terrible management!

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - great science, strong publication, and great health benefit

    Cons

    - Upper Management (especially those are at VP or director levels) can be petty and clique style attitude. Allows other people to be rude and disrespectful to others when they feel like it. Even when you complain they do nothing or put you in a postition where you have to be subjected to the bias treatment. They keep people who know how to sweet talk and create a toxic environment over people who bring a positive vibe to the work place. - The CEO is a great person but has the the wrong people working underneath him. - No upward mobility for career growth - Projects change often with no clear direction. - Gosship environment and office politics/dramas. - Salary is not great at all.
