You are setup to fail from the beginning. You have to report to an office regardless if you have any work to do; when you could be working remotely. Then there is the pressure to drum up business. So, you are an engineer but you are expected to meet a quota of billable hours. So, you actually have a sales account manager role too. Then there is the problem with there not being enough engineers to cover when major projects kick of. So, you frequently get into situations where your are expected to meet project deadlines, oh and then you are also expected to drum up those billable hours too. It's a vicious circle and there are not enough hours in the day. The quality of your work begins to plummet quickly. Don't expect your owner to ever make eye contact with or even speak to you. I could get past that, but then there is the "favorites" crew. This place has an inner circle. If you are not in it, you are expendable at any time; so you better not miss on any cylinders. You will get talked about behind your back. Benefits are not even affordable, but they will not cover much anyway. Good luck taking vacation. They make it hard to do that. Training? They promise the world but never follow through. It is never budgeted. Oh, and don't expect to get any praise, much less any money when you engineer a new project for a sales account manager. You get nothing. This place is a beat down.
