I worked at Intelligent Decisions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Although the company was large, it had a small company feel to it. Having that small company feel, we were able to get a lot of projects accomplished.

    Cons

The company was bought by FedData, and the benefits and management changed.

I worked at Intelligent Decisions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits and very approachable management and HR. They are always willing to go above and beyond to accommodate their employees. Good professional development opportunities.

    Cons

The only down side I see is lack of opportunities . Hire some aggressive marketers and Technology professionals who are familiar with biding major contracts , so that you can be awarded more contracts and give your employees the opportunity to work for you longer. The uncertain environment will definitely force people to look for stability and that is why I left, because the contract i will working on is almost coming to an end and I could not find any projects within the company.

    Advice to Management

Go out there and get some new contracts for your employees .

I worked at Intelligent Decisions full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Wonderful team of people. The staff at ID was really results focused and worked together to accomplish what needed to happen.

    Cons

Management. It seemed that the people in charge rarely understood what their company was doing, why things were being done a certain way, or where the company was headed. What should have been a wonderful place to work was ruined by managerial short-sightedness.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff, who are often the subject expert. Focus less on micro-managing and more on long term planning and client satisfaction.

    Pros

Pay was good. Best base salary I ever made.

    Cons

I was on a contract with a Government entity for about 3 months before they laid me off. They warned me of this ahead of time so I had time to look for another position both within and outside the company, but they did little to nothing to help me find a new position. Also, the benefits were terrible. High deductible on medical insurance, with a high copay once I met the deductible. Many basic benefits were not available, like EAP.

    Advice to Management

Do more to retain your talented staff. If they are on a billable contract, and the contract no longer needs them, find them something else even if they need to sit on the bench for a while. In the long run it's better to keep someone with experience, than to train someone new.

ID's financial structure was solid providing an opportunity to grow business aggressively.

Sr. direct report leaders used a hit an run business development strategy; failing to engage/support establish win strategies.

    Advice to Management

Senior Leadership did not work together collaborative, which caused a flow down of performance issues leading ultimately to a large number of corporate distraction that prevented growing solid business/contracting relationships with customers.
