I worked at Jackson Health System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent Start off Pay, employee fair every Thursday, accrued pot time(8 hrs. every pay period),benefits

    Cons

Company Politics is what is causing Jackson to lose good employees, signs of racism and favoritism within departments, backstabbing amongst upper management trickles down to lower level employees. When I left I could not stand it anymore with the management team being in on the secrets and talking behind your back, joking about your outer appearance so don't half step.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to be cool with your employees as far being their friend when you need to manage them better. If you are going to do that then make sure its equal amongst everyone in your department not just ones you favor. Learn to help those in need genuinely and not mock or criticize them for what they don't know. Too much gossip and politics for me to deal with this company they need to do better.

I worked at Jackson Health System full-time

    Pros

    - Benefits
    - Good plug for your resume

    Cons

    - TERRIBLE administration. There are so many incompetent individuals who only reached high positions based on favoritism.
    - They do not care to make processes more efficient. Working in chaos is job security for some.
    - No ethics. Data that is reported is wrong and misleading. There is no transparency.
    - Very unprofessional. Some administrators talk down to, micromanage, and harass employees. They also form cliques that create hostile working environments.
    - No work life balance. No job flexibility.

    Advice to Management

You’re losing amazing talent just to keep some inept individuals in high positions. The institution should focus on providing the best quality care to our community. Instead, our tax dollars are used to run an inefficient health system that only cares to maintain and fatten the pockets of horrible administrators.

I worked at Jackson Health System full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Personnel, Mission, Diversity, overall, JMH was a great place to build the foundation for my career. At the time the pay and benefits were almost unmatched in Dade County.

    Cons

Inner department advancement was very limited due to seniority rules. Not always was the most senior person the "best" candidate for the position.

    Advice to Management

Continue doing the work you have for so many years. I was there for the building of the Ryder Trauma Center, the first Hyperbaric Chamber and the Laser used for specific brain tumors. JMH was always a leader in medical innovation and delivery to the residents of South Florida and the Caribbean.
