The Accounting department had an incredible amount of turnover. Including my predecessor and myself there were 4 people that quit in the span of a little more than a year. If you have a suggestion it is treated as hostile criticism or a personal attack no matter how nicely it is worded. If you have any problems, you're better off trying to solve them yourself. Stressful work environment. Middle management was obsessed with "optics" and looking busy constantly, but that didn't apply to them, of course. Zero accountability for upper/middle management. Boss would frequently leave early and would take unmarked vacation days whenever he could get away with it. No HR resources- any complaint you have will be used against you. They would tell you they would look into it, then laugh about it over lunch or gossip to other employees. The owners are nice to your face, but are never around to see what upper management gets up to. Nothing ever comes of complaints. Overall, it feels like working at a boys club. Women's complaints aren't taken seriously, employees under middle management are treated like second-class citizens.
