    Pros

It has a lot of benefits. Fun working environment. Very good people. Loved it. Cant say i had a better first job. Thats it.

    Cons

Not too many cons. Enjoyed working there. Could say that managers need to be more deeply considered when they have little to none managerial explanation

I have been working at Lids full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Have the growth to support the need. Many current DMs are from within so their knowledge is a plus. Great sports atmosphere if that your thing. Great for fashion students as well with the custom options we have.

    Cons

Disorganized Chaos. And what exactly is the DMIT program do for tenured DMs brought on. There should be a fast track option. Gee tough as a DMIT to get into the office with credibility. Many things are micro managed which caused selected leaders frustrations. Pay need to improve and when that is done higher quality of applicants will slowly come through as well. OMS service is the root of its on evil. Store are just to lazy to respect other customers money. If Corp could work a .50 spiff or something for each other filled with thin the first 20 mins they get a perk. If they take longer than 20 any amount they have earned goes back to 0. Keeps us honest and a little fun with it.

    Advice to Management

More support for your field leaders. A store that runs the entire state of concepts needs a FT DMIT to help build their area. Once that DMITs location is ready, next person moves up. Tenured DMIT need to help sooner in the field which will in turn improve in store performance.

    Pros

Upbeat environment, and very easy work. Learning how to work the embroidery machine and getting creative was always fun on any day.

    Cons

Not much room to move up, not very organized. It was a pain to put an alarm tag on every single hat seeing as a shipment came in almost every day. Most days only 1-2 worked at a time.

I have been working at Lids full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The discount (40%) is great, and generally speaking your co workers are usually fun. I have found that moving up to management can be done very quickly. I went from sales associate to PT asst manager with just 2 months, and in another 6 months I was a FT asst manager with benefits and bonuses. If you are willing to actually do your job and are good at selling/helping people it can be very easy for you.

    Cons

Unfortunately sometimes it can be a bit too easy to move up and some people are in positions they definitely don’t deserve to be. I mean I worked with someone who was at least 20-60 late EVERY day, called off every time there was a big boxing match or sports game and was just lazy all around and he was a store manager. They also do not pay your worth at all. I used to go back and forth to other store locations to help out other managers, worked on days I needed off, and was always a yes type of person and my wage is terrible, just barely above minimum wage. Also I wish the DMs wouldn’t just straight ignore and neglect stores, they never wanted to answer any questions or needs we had but the second our sales dropped we would have emails/phone calls/store visit constantly. I personally just got very fed up with lids which is why I am no longer there.

    Advice to Management

My advice to the store managers are to have your associates and management team’s back a bit more when it comes to your DMs and other high up people. Fight for them to give more hours for your hard workers and fight for them to have more fair wages. Also Lids really needs to stop being scared of firing incompetent workers and just get it done with instead of leaving them in a store for everyone else around that toxic person to suffer.
