- Market leader with lots of user love and enthusiasm, 70 user NPS - Continuing to grow, even with the overall macro environment - Lots of professional growth opportunities - more than enough work to go around, it's all about personal initiative and ownership
Cons
- Loom is start up undergoing a lot of change - it won't be the right place for everyone as things change a lot and quickly - Market is getting more competitive so I hope we continue staying focused on shipping innovative product

A Five-Star Workplace: Great culture and product
May 24, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This has truly been a breath of fresh air in my career. The company culture is a blend of passion, innovation, and support that encourages us to put our best foot forward every day. Being a part of the Loom team is thrilling; we are empowered to think creatively and explore uncharted territories. Our leaders are not only transparent, but they foster an environment where risk-taking is welcomed, and creativity is celebrated. This has invigorated the work I do and has made every project an exciting challenge. The work-life balance at Loom is excellent. Management respects our personal time and promotes mental well-being, while the flexible work arrangements help maintain a healthy equilibrium between work and personal life.
Cons
Like any job, working at Loom comes with its own share of challenges. The fast-paced environment and high expectations can sometimes be demanding. However, these challenges have always been a catalyst for personal and professional growth, pushing us to consistently strive for excellence.

Innovative product and healthy design culture
May 4, 2023 - Product DesignerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
High-impact work: As a designer, I find it incredibly exciting to work on a product that has the potential to rival communication tools like email and Slack, and it’s been fascinating to see how much the company uses its own product to communicate like no other place I’ve worked for. Health is emphasized: To prevent burnout, our company encourages us to take time off and prioritize our well-being. We have dedicated no-meeting Wednesdays, a summer break, solid wellness and coworking benefits, and rely heavily on Loom for communication, resulting in fewer meetings than I'm used to. A supportive team: While we do work within a startup environment, the Design and Research team has established rituals and norms that optimize for consistent inclusion and team comradery, which helps make working for a startup a more enjoyable experience. Remote first company: Given Loom helps folks who live in different locations collaborate, the company itself encourages us to live where we can be most effective—there is no center of gravity in San Francisco, for example, so you do not have to live in California, for example, to feel relevant.
Cons
As I mentioned above, given Loom is a startup, and given the current economic climate, pivots in terms of prioritization are a common occurrence to be prepared for.

Awesome Company - Exciting Career Opportunities and Path Forward
May 15, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Video messaging market leader and creator - Loom has 4x'd since raising Series C two years ago - Great people across the business - hard working, kind, humble. Genuinely like each other and working together - Making exciting moves in AI - Company made the hard decisions early and before other startups. It feels like a 180 degree change from where we were a year ago which was painful but the right thing to do in hindsight
Cons
- Still some weak / entitled employees at the company who liked the "easy" times of 2021 better and aren't bought into the strategy going forward - Office footprint has changed quite a bit over the last year, team would love more time together both working and socially

Great product, strong business, and huge opportunity still ahead
May 19, 2023 - EPDRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-There is an AMAZING product sitting at the core of our biz. I've never seen such product market fit and intense user love -The leadership team was extremely responsive to macro and the changing environment, and I'm really grateful that they made a lot of critical and tough business decisions early that have positioned Loom to compete in the market for the long haul -I've never worked on an enterprise product with such great product market fit. Users are passionate about the product and I truly think there is a huge market potential for Loom -Strong performers are recognized and rewarded
Cons
-There are colleagues who are not comfortable with the frequent change and adaptability that come with being at a startup. Think the leadership team still needs to figure out how to motivate these individuals so they are ok with the quick-moving nature

Great product, one horrible leader
Apr 24, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The Loom product is a market leader and is something I still truly believe has the power to shape how people work. The popularity of the product will continue attracting people that Loom's leadership will churn through and spit out with added trauma.
Cons
There is specifically one person on Loom's leadership team who is the most toxic person I've ever worked with. They are the single source for many of Loom's recent departures and I will never ever for the rest of my life work at the same company this person is at. To be clear, this is not the CEO, who I mostly had positive interactions with. I unfortunately have to keep this review light on details due to fear of retaliation, which is sad. I met many great people while working at Loom whom I now consider very good friends. We had good times together that are now colored due to our shared negative experiences alongside a sociopathic person in the C suite. My advice to anyone looking at this page: run far away. Roll the dice on another company that is hopefully run by normal people. Thankfully the Loom name is still highly regarded among future employers but that won't last forever. I'm now happily employed elsewhere.

Pros
In the first half of my tenure it felt like I was learning a lot, but that all went out the door after rounds of layoffs. The founders have incredible egos and are miserable to work with.
Cons
1. The ENTIRE management team turned over in 1 year. Really inexperienced managers were catapulted into positions of leadership and that led to very difficult working conditions as an IC and so much thrash because of management. 2. Read the rest of the glassdoor reviews - nobody is referring to their workplace with the same language that would appear on a pitch deck; the founders write fake reviews to boost their ranking

Pros
- People! I'd say Loom generally has a good number of well-intended, smart people that are great to work with - Decent comp + benefits - Plenty of opportunities to step up + stretch yourself - Users love the product
Cons
Most problems at Loom can be attributed to an inexperienced exec/leadership team: - There's a lot of top down decision making - why hire good people if you're not going to listen to them or let them have the autonomy? Feels like decisions are made behind closed doors and then people are told to just blindly execute on them. Generally a result of poor communication / lack of proper management skills - No clear strategy - just metrics to go after. Metrics should be an output of a good strategy, but because the strategy lacks clarity or direction - teams + orgs are all over the place and constantly experiencing whiplash. Cross-functional alignment sometimes feels impossible - Incredibly reactive - there's a lot of anxiety at Loom, especially at the leadership level. While I don't blame them (they're human), their inability to manage it properly results in it trickling down to employees, leading to chaos, confusion, and burnout Very dependent on your team or role, but work-life balance can be tricky and some teams are stretched very thin.

Great product led by very poor management
Mar 21, 2023 - Business Development Representative in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Asynch work - Great product - Great benefits - Great Pay
Cons
Echoing what has been said that Loom has the potential to be a phenomenal company but will have a very hard time getting there with the sales leadership in place today. The Business Development management is not open to career conversations, does not provide feedback or coaching, will not provide you any clear expectations, and will expect you to excel while they take credit for "helping" and for any of the successful processes that you generated without them. This is an extremely toxic work place, and I would not recommend working for this sales org. On top of this, there is no room for growth at Loom. They will promise advancement in careers but promotions are not laid out formally or even informally -- there's no way of knowing how you can promote even if you hit quota or exceed quota every month, so you're at-will to their disposal.
