I am 2 months into my new position at Rose Associates as a leasing agent and I hate it. I worked at my last property management company as a leasing agent and did considerably well. At Rose Associates, I haven’t received any formal training on their CRM and procedures. My property has tons of vacancies due to it being very outdated and unorganized. I feel like I made the biggest mistake in my career, what do I do next?

I am a new agent meeting with my brokers today and wanting to bring up doing property management as well in 2024. I would like to help people manage their short term rentals since I live in a college town. How should I bring this up to my brokers? Also what should I ask or find out?

I recently received a Job offer. I accepted it verbally in order for them to send me the official offer letter. It does match everything they described to me (based on salary, sign on bonus, & relocation assistance.) However the question I have is should i attempt to negotiate for a higher base salary? When speaking to my parents about it they told me that the time for negotiation is over as I accepted the offer as it stands and they sent it to me.

PTO is easy to take, they will hire anyone that applies! Heath insurance is good!
Supervisors don't follow company procedures, they will take advantage of you if you let them and if you don't they will pick on you, write ups and more work assigned to you! it a no win situation.

Trusted to work alone Overtime pay
Company expects you to work very hard for little pay Only a pay raise of 5 cents to 20 cents a year Bad communications with managers and employees Unfair bonus wages

Great environment, great people, and great residents.
Pay is way too low for a resident service associate whom has the same responsibility of a property manager yet half the pay is being administered1

Co-Workers Location It's a great place to learn what not to do.
They don't want to compensate for the amount of work expected. There is no structure or certain way of doing things. One day it's this way the next day it's another way. Management is quite messy and upper management seem to be incompetent and do not care about their employees or the residents. There is a culture of nepotism and bullying as well. Eli just continues to buy buildings without a care to fix the current ones Mac already owns. Mac is the definition of a slum lord at this point. They care more about their premier properties . The walkups are dangerous and constantly have maintenance issues.

Benefits package was very attractive. Mac knows that it is otherwise a terrible company so they have good benefits and other incentives contingent on you having a certain tenure so that you stay for the benefits, even if you get treated like an animal.
Drama all the time. The company was a complete mess from top to bottom. No communication, no support for Resident Services or front desk staff who are trying to make it all work. No training on how to deal with escalation. Managers blamed me for problems that I didn’t create. Management expected me to do so much that was beyond my job description and that they didn’t sufficiently train me on. They never listened. They never learned. I didn’t realize how bad Mac was until I got hired with my new job and realized how employees should be treated and what a positive and supportive work environment looks like. There is no good reason to work for these people. Do not apply for resident services unless they are hiring you at $25 an hour with a week long training course, because that’s what I deserved for what I had to deal with there.1
