All of the people I worked with within the College of ComArtSci were incredibly nice and welcoming. Especially exciting to work in an environment with so many successful and professional women.

    Pros

Benefits are great including employer provided health care and dental insurance, a very generous 403b match, and plenty of available time off

I worked at Michigan State University part-time

    Pros

I specifically worked for one of the medical schools. It was an easy interview process and i would mainly write articles about what the students and faculty members were doing or highlight events that the medical school was hosting. I would also manage the official website

Very relaxed and engaging environment, everyone is extremely helpful

    Cons

I have nothing bad to say about this experience

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

The campus is amazing. If you liked college, you'll like working at a college.

    Cons

Working at academic institutions can sometimes feel constraining. There's a set way of doing things and it never changes

I have been working at Michigan State University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management is very understanding of your classwork. The Managers above me have always understood how important school was and that it was a first priority over my position at MSU. You are given plenty of time to finish the required materials on a weekly basis and overtime is not required, although sometimes offered.

    Cons

High Turnover Rate. There are currently two level IV's in the building I work in. there have been a few cases where the other Level IV has left which placed the burden of both positions on myself. During this time it was manageable without overtime, but definitely stressful.

    Advice to Management

Be more decisive of what you would like of the position and their scheduling. Be more clear-cut with the position expectations.
