Pros

This job helped me understand how bad things can get when you work under extremely toxic and incompetent leadership. As a result, I have gained a new appreciation for working at a well organized company.

Cons

Hostile, incompetent, insecure leadership that sees productive employees as a threat. The main goal of US leadership seems to be hiding their dysfunction from Swedish HQ. A successful Sales Rep at MSAB is a threat to the status quo and you will be targeted. This is not just a summary of my own experience, according to long term and former employees this has been happening for the last two years. Make sure you look into turn over, and inquire about the experience level of current Sales Managers.

If you can make it work, you'll thrive

Pros

- International company with friendly, diverse coworkers - Depending on your department, opportunities to experiment and try out new ideas - Can be a big fish in a small pond where if you're highly motivated and willing to put in the time and effort, you can be exposed to plenty of different projects and advance in the company - Mission-driven company that strives to make the world a safer place through privacy-centric solutions - Internal processes and structures maturing and improving thanks to new energy inside the company

Cons

- High rates of burnout amongst staff with constrained resources. This isn't a 9-5 job with flush resources to go around. You'll be working long days and possibly weekends with short deadlines and high expectations. If you thrive under stress, you can make it work, but there's no safety net to prevent burnouts. - Compensation is substantially lower than sector and benefits are weak causing high turnover. - Constant conflict between Swedish HQ and outer offices, where lower-tier employees are left trying to navigate toxic internal politics and cultural differences - Frequent examples of perceived bullying and cultural toxicity across the company that drive talented staff to leave
