    Pros

    I cannot think of any

    Cons

There are many starting with the fluff that is on their website. Their primary focus is staffing (i.e., a body shop). They pull resumes off of the internet and try to place people. Microexcel offers a mediocre salary and poor benefits. Senior management is not good with what seem to be questionable business practices.

    Advice to Management

Nothing really if you want to be a body shop keep doing what your are doing. If you want to be something more determine what your strategy and focus should be and hire professional management and sales people.

    Pros

I really enjoy working here. Management and especially leadership (CEO, President and Practice Leaders) are always very supportive and helpful. You can learn a lot here. Great products. Teamwork approach to deals. Strong support from delivery and project teams. Many brilliant and talented IT professionals here!

    Cons

No real cons here. The company respects all employees, mostly hires independent experienced pros and expects them to deliver. You get out what you put in here.

    Advice to Management

Keep growing. Keep expanding into complementary areas. Share company goals. Act quickly. Communicate frequently.

I worked at Microexcel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are opportunities to grow professionally. They will take chances on younger sales reps and give them a chance when other bigger firms may not. The CEO is directly involved in your success and attempts to provide assistance when available.

    Cons

There was a disconnect with what they expected from me and what was discussed in the interview process. It would have been nice if they were completely transparent with how they judged their sales reps. Their policy is that if you do not sign a SOW in your first 90 days it is grounds for termination. I personally believe that is a very aggressive goal (especially selling into net new SAP accounts), but for some more seasoned people may be more attainable. Given I came into the situation with no customers or named accounts it was quite challenging. When I was interviewing they made it out to seem like they are not driven by quarterly success but that is certainly not true.

The CEO is really nice and really enjoyed my interactions with him on a personal level. However, professionally I would admit that there were some things that I disagreed with. Overall, I give my experience a C- at Microexcel. Even though it did not work out for me it may very well be a great fit for someone else.

    Advice to Management

Be completely transparent with employees about expectations. It seems that there is a disconnect between management and sales teams.

    Pros

They pay well if you negotiate properly. General administration is good.

    Cons

They operate like a staffing company more than a Professional services company. They do not nurture talent. Provide zero career growth guidance and opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Find talent and put an honest effort to keep them. Help them with their career goals. They will take you places.
