    Fair and supportive

Jul 9, 2022 - RN Inpatient in Tacoma, WA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Supportive coworkers and management. Good patient ratios. Competitive wage with options for Incentive pay that ranges depending on need.

    Cons

As with any healthcare, when short staffed could have increased patient assignment. Luckily with their incentive pay offers this does not happen too regularly.

Great Place to Work, Needs Some Improvement

    Aug 12, 2022 - Registered Nurse, BSN
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

I work in a 36 bed capacity PCU. While there are always ways to improve, this is a great place to work. Management is great and always strives to create the best work place for staff. Our model is 1:3 ratio. Theres also a good loan repayment program,.

    Cons

Staffing can be a little iffy. Half of our staff some days are entirely travelers. The hospitals seems to open new units without thinking of how the day to day process will work. This PCU has recently been upskilling its nurses. Some have upskilled to ICU while all the PCU nurses have been upskilling with insulin drips and heated high flow.

    Pros

They staff is very nice and diverse

    Cons

You do the work of 2 cnas but don't even make 20$ an hour, it is never consistent of how many aides will be working that day. Some days you'll have 5 cnas and you'll have 10 patients, and other days there has only been 2 and I've had 25 patients and am completely overwhelmed. Also working 12 hour shifts is terrible.

Company News
The Sparrow Healthcare Education medical assistant training program allows students to complete what is usually a 9 month to 2 year-long program in 18 weeks. Not only are participants able to work their regular full-time MultiCare roles during the training, but MultiCare also covers the full cost of the training. Anna Latoszek, a recent graduate, had been watching Rockwood Clinic staff at work for the past 7 years while managing the Thomas Hammer coffee stand. She loved building connections with the clinic staff, but wanted to have that connection with patients, to care for them, and to “feel like I’m doing something good.” “I’ve always wanted to go into the medical field,” she says. “When this program came about it was perfect.” Along with earning her certification, she gained a new confidence in herself, especially while being the new person in a different work environment.
