I have been working at MultiCare Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay and a very friendly HR staff. My department was great before multi-care stepped in and took over but the people I get to work with on a daily basis at Deaconess Hospital really make the work environment amazing!

    Cons

I think the medical benefits could be a little better and a little less expensive. They should include a couple of free massages every month as well as some naturopathic options

    Advice to Management

People who work in healthcare need great health benefits I think a reward program offering employees cash incentives for making healthy choices is a great idea maybe offering fitness trackers at a reduced price and giving cash towards healthcare expenses for meeting certain goals is a great idea. I also feel employees should get two free massages a month this job is very hard on the body and massage could be very healing for a lot us. As well as a benefit package that includes some naturopathic medicine covered on it like acupuncture and hydrotherapy treatments at a naturopathic clinic.

I have been working at MultiCare Health System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Competitive wages compared to surrounding hospitals and clinics.

    Cons

    Poor communication
    Toxic work environments
More focus on revenue than patient care
    Wasted money on committees
CEO doesn’t care, never addresses issues
Compensation benefits taken away under new CEO
Human Resources are NOT on employees side EVER
Seen good employees fired for no good reason
    You are not safe here!

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing so much on revenue and get back to patient care. Get rid of managers that create these toxic work environments. Also agree that the representative commenting on people’s reviews on here is most likely a higher level employee that benefits from the increased over billing of patients.

I worked at MultiCare Health System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Compensation, Benefits which depends on your department

    Cons

The Urgent Care Department is terrible. There have been several changes over the last few years and they are for the worst. The changes are so bad the providers sought union protection. MultiCare does not care about the working conditions of its providers and the providers are often ignored. There were poorly written contracts, inadequate staffing, no closing policies, very high patient volumes with only one provider at times, and no designated breaks (some days you can barely eat or go to the restroom in a 12+ hour shift) whatsoever for providers. Management constantly changed and became worse and more incompetent with each change. This healthcare system was one of the most toxic environments I have ever been employed with and I would not recommend this place to any provider or staff member as a place to work.

    Advice to Management

Learn to practice what you preach and instill your "values" in the workplace and within the management teams. Your HR department is also toxic and unhelpful. Management should treat providers with respect and listen to their concerns and not ignore them.

I have been working at MultiCare Health System full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Large organization with a good vision to expand and become a relevant healthcare system in the Pacific Northwest. Fast moving company.

    Cons

Was a more "mom and pop" mentality that is going through a transition of become a more corporate entity. Must resistance to change, morale is low.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget your people and providing work life balance.
